Robert Y. Strom is a founding principal and Chairman of CIP Real Estate.
Mr. Strom directly oversees and is primarily responsible for capital formation tasks at CIP Real Estate. While coordinating with other members of management in all phases of acquisition and disposition, Mr. Strom has supervised and coordinated both debt and equity requirements. Total capital formation at CIP Real Estate has exceeded $1 billion over 26 years. As a member of senior management Mr. Strom is also active in strategic decisions regarding operations, staffing, planning, and direction of CIP Real Estate.
Prior to forming CIP Real Estate, Mr. Strom was the founder of the Mortgage BancFund partnerships: two public, SEC-registered, limited partnerships. Mr. Strom as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mortgage BancFund Corporation was responsible for marketing of the partnership interests in 44 states as well as the planning, implementation, management and administration of lending operations. These partnerships originated development and construction loan portfolios totaling approximately $900 million.
From 1977 to 1981 Mr. Strom was Vice President and manager of the Orange County office of Lloyds Bank California (now Bank of the West), where his responsibilities included the supervision of production, administration and servicing of commercial real estate construction loans throughout Southern California totaling over $400 million.
Mr. Strom earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in Real Estate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1972 and has held a California real estate broker’s license since 1975. Mr. Strom is married with two grown sons and resides in Corona Del Mar, California.
